A new version of linuX-gamers live 0.95 was just announced at LinuxTag 2009 in Berlin. This Linux distribution is a live system working on CD, DVD or USB drives, powered by Arch Linux. The live media contains a collection of various games, automatically running directly from a CD, DVD or an USB drive, without the need to install Linux on your machine. Therefore, the user does not need to know nothing about installing Linux, just how to play addicting 3D games. You can also successfully play these games from within Windows.

With linuX-gamers live 0.95, you get support for both NVIDIA and ATI video cards, because the corresponding proprietary Linux drivers are included into this Linux distribution.

By running linuX-gamers live 0.95 you will get instant access to your favorite games. The collection contains both simple as well as complex 3D games, like World of Padman, Nexuiz, OpenlieroX, Sauerbraten, Scorched 3D and SuperTuxKart.

According to the release notes, you can download and setup one of the following linuX-gamers live 0.95 flavors:

-Lite ISO is a CD image (700MB) containing a limited games selection suitable for children and older computers.
-Lite USB: Same games selection as the Lite ISO version but for USB keys and USB sticks (requires minimum of 1GB USB device). It can be written on an USB device using this command in Linux: sudo dd bs=8M if=/path/to/lg-live-0.9.5-i686-lite.usb of=/dev/your_usb_device or with the Flashnul utility if you are on Windows.
-Big ISO: Big DVD image (4.7GB) containing the full games selection for adults and more recent computers.
-Big USB: Contains full games selection as per Big ISO. (an USB stick of at least 5GB capacity is required).

Practically, all you have to do is burn a CD or a DVD with the ISO content or use the USB version on your stick and then boot the media and play. The gaming Linux distribution linuX-gamers live 0.95 is definitely a must have in your games collection.
