Google Voice Is Open For Everyone
In March 2009, Google has started to release a preview of Google Voice service, which allows you to get only one phone number in order to link all your existing phones and get voicemail, which is easy to use like email. Initially, the service was limited to the users of GrandCentral, but now Google extends it for a wider audience. Craig Walker and Vincent Paquet, Product Managers, Google Voice explain: “Once you receive your invitation, just click on the link and follow the instructions to setup your new Voice account. To help you find a Google number that is personalized to you, we’ve added a number picker that lets you search by area code and text. See if you can find a number that contains your name, a specific word or a number combination.”
The main benefits of Google Voice service are described in a previous Google Official Blog post: “You can get transcripts of your voicemail and archive and search all of the SMS text messages you send and receive. You can also use the service to make low-priced international calls and easily access Goog-411 directory assistance.”
Google Voice service also gives you many enhanced calling features like call blocking and screening, voicemail transcripts, call conferencing, international calls, and more.
