Windows 7 Beta Expires Soon
As you may already know, if you have installed Windows 7 Beta operating system, starting with July 1st, 2009, your computer will begin to reboot every two hours and your copy of Windows 7 Beta will expire on August first. Therefore, it is a good idea to upgrade to Windows 7 RC, but in this case you should hurry, because the Release Candidate of the upcoming Windows 7 operating system can be downloaded only until August 15, 2009.
According to the Springboard Series Blog, users are allowed to install a copy of Windows 7 Release Candidate with a valid key even after August 15, 2009: “After that, you won’t be able to get the download, but you can still install the RC and get a key if you need one. (To get a key, just go to the Downloads page and follow the instructions.)”.
As an alternative, you should check out the Windows 7 Upgrade Option program started on June 26, 2009, which allows users to get Windows 7 for free, when they will buy a qualifying personal computer with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate from a participating OEM or retailer.
The date of Windows 7 General Availability is October 22, 2009, but if you will not buy a copy of the operating system after this date, the Release Candidate of Windows 7 can still be used for free until March 1, 2010, when it will expire.
