Bing Twitter: Get Tweets In Microsoft Bing
Microblogging data from Twitter is a good source of real time news from the web, maybe better than any popular search engine. Considering Twitter as a primary source of information updated in real time from all around the world, Microsoft became interested by Twitter phenomenon, by considering it a priority for consumers needs. As a consequence, developers added a new feature to Bing, the newly launched Microsoft search engine: the integration of real time data from Twitter in Bing search results.
The news was made public on Microsoft Bing community blog by Sean Suchter, General Manager, Search Technology Center, Silicon Valley: “Today we’re unveiling an initial foray into integrating more real time data into our search results, starting with some of the more prominent and prolific Twitterers from a variety of spheres. Starting later today, when you search for these folks names in association with Twitter, you’ll see their latest Tweets come up in real time on Bing’s search results.”
By performing a search query based on a Twitter user name in Bing search engine, you will get the latest two tweets of the Twitter user. In the same time, there is provided a link that can be used to see more tweets corresponding to the person mentioned in the Bing search query.
The display of various tweets in Bing search results is made with the help of Twitter API. Bing will not index all Twitter tweets – just a few hundred of popular Twitter users was chosen for start, based on their number of updates and followers.
