Facebook just launched a Facebook Connect-enabled social widge, Facebook Fan Box, which will allow you to introduce into any website pages your Facebook Page information stream, only by copying and pasting four lines of JavaScript code in the page template. Even more, the websites visitors will be able to become fans without the need to go to the main Facebook website and you will also get in real time the updated content of the information stream published on your Facebook account, according to the Official Facebook Blog:
“With the Fan Box, brands can bring content from their Facebook Page into their website and help convert website visitors into Facebook fans. Users can view the most recent posts from the Page, see a list of other fans (including their friends), and, most importantly, become a fan without leaving the site. Additionally, if a user visits the site and isn’t logged in to Facebook, the user can log in and become a fan directly inline as well.”
In a few minutes, you will be able to setup a Facebook Fan Box on your website: just grab the necessary JavaScript code by clicking Add Fan Box link, underneath your Page’s profile picture.
Facebook Fan Box can be customized in order to perfectly match your website: it requires a minimum of 200px width and 64px height for the Become a Fan button (included into all Fan Boxes) and 554px height with all features enabled.
