Google Chrome OS Makes A Step Forward: Google Chrome 3.0.192.x
Recently, Google has released a new development version of Google Chrome, the revolutionary web browser based on WebKit rendering engine, as Safari browser. Google Chrome 3.0.192.x is available for free download on dev channel for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X users. It comes with new features, as well as bug fixes, especially in case of Mac OS X and Linux based versions.
According to the Google Chrome Releases blog, these are the highlights of Google Chrome 3.0.192.x for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X:
-(Mac) Enabled support for the Mac OS X spellchecking service.
-(Mac) First cut at popup blocking for Mac.
-(Linux) Accelerator keys like ctl-C for copy should work again.
-(Linux) Initial support of complex text (e.g. Arabic). Bug reports welcome.
-(Linux) Initial GTK theme support.
-(Linux) IME support.
-(Extensions) Breaking API Change: page_actions.icon renamed to
-page_action.icons and changed from a single string to an array of
-strings.
-(All) Added support for exporting/ importing bookmarklet bookmarks, thanks to Thiago.
-(All) Fixed Acid3 Test 48: LINKTEST
In the previous development version of Google Chrome (Google Chrome 3.0.191.3), many progresses could be also noticed: the rendering of animated GIF images was fixed, IME for non-roman script languages support was introduced for the Linux version, the Save As function is now available on Mac OS X and more.
In order to install the latest development version of Google Chrome browser (Google Chrome 3.0.192.x), you must switch to the dev channel. Before upgrading the channel, you should backup your current profile data, such as bookmarks, most visited pages, history and cookies.
