Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 Includes Moblin 2.0
The last development version (RC2) of Mandriva Linux 2010 was made available for free download on public mirrors. Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 comes with lots of bugs fixed, but also new features, like Moblin 2.0, KDE 4.3.2, GNOME 2.28 and Xfce 4.6.1 graphical environments.
It seems that Mandriva Linux 2010 is the first distribution that includes the full packaged Moblin graphical environment. Moblin 2.0 is ergonomic, primarily intended for netbooks.
On the other hand, KDE 4.3.2 is currently a stable desktop, as well as GNOME 2.28 which contains the latest version of GTK+ with client side window. Xfce 4.6.1 desktop has a new configuration system alongside new setings application. Xfce 4.6.1 desktop can be enabled in Mandriva Linux through task-xfce package.
In Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 you will also find X.org server 1.6.3, Python 2.6, Virtualbox 3.0.8 and more.
As compared with the previously releases, Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 has a Guest account (temporary account) enabled by default which allows anyone to safely use your environment.
Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 is ready for download as Free version, (32 and 64 bit DVDs). On Monday there will also be available One version, KDE or GNOME and virtual images based on One images. Mandriva Linux 2010 RC2 can be used as a portable operating system, because all distribution images are hybrid ISOs.
