HootSuite is a professional Twitter client which allows you to manage a single or multiple accounts from a web based intuitive graphical user interface. Version 2.0 of HootSuite Twitter client was just launched in public beta and seems to provide more features as compared with similar services. Approximately in a week after Windows 7 RTM was released to major OEM (original equipment manufacturers), hackers have found an innovative method to crack and activate pirated copies of the operating system. Based on a Windows 7 Ultimate OEM DVD ISO leaked on a Chinese forum, the hackers have identified the OEM-SLP (System Locked Preinstall) product key and the OEM certificate for Windows 7 RTM Ultimate. The necessary data to permanently activate Windows 7 RTM Ultimate was grabbed via boot.wim file existing on the leaked DVD ISO. (more…)

Many of you could be Twitter users for a long time now, and your browser cookies determine an automatic login process to the Twitter account main page. By going to the main Twitter page, the existing users who will sign out from Twitter for a few moments and the new ones (Internet users without a Twitter account) will be pleased to see the newly redesigned Twitter front page. According to the recent rumors, Facebook allowed third party advertisers to include users photos in ads, without their permission. Practically, Facebook would have changed the policies for third-party advertisers and the use of photos. This was the week when we received only good news from Facebook (as always of course). In the first place, now mobile users can upload photos and videos to their accounts in order to share with friends, just by sending an email. Since its launch in December, 2009, Facebook Connect has been implemented in more than 15000 sites, devices and applications worldwide. This morning when I opened Twitter, the number of followers count was dramatically decreased. Looking for a logical explanation, the first possibility was to think that the respective followers Twitter users chosen to not follow my Twitter updates anymore. But, the real explanation was provided by Twitter itself: in the attempt to correct the followers and following counts, Twitter service has been updated in order to reflect the real values. There are indeed Digg short URLs that will not redirect traffic to Digg. Several news websites have reported a change in the mechanism of working of Digg’s URL shortening service. The new short URLs, as well as the ones made before Digg’s URL shortening service update, will redirect users who are not logged in to Digg and click on them, to the corresponding Digg page of the story, instead of the original article web page. It is obvious the fact that Digg wants to have more traffic and users, while the other publishers will have less readers, because they will be redirected to Digg.

On the Facebook official blog, there was announced the current number of the Facebook social network users: 250 million. This record number of users marks an important step in the Facebook network evolution and also indicates the future trends regarding the impact of Facebook services over the majority of Internet users. On the other hand, as you might already know, from one ore more hacked official Twitter documents (from a total of 310), results that Twitter network target is to gather 1 billion users until the end of 2013. The question is who will win in the battle for the Internet social networking services supremacy, Facebook or Twitter?

Facebook just launched a Facebook Connect-enabled social widge, Facebook Fan Box, which will allow you to introduce into any website pages your Facebook Page information stream, only by copying and pasting four lines of JavaScript code in the page template. Even more, the websites visitors will be able to become fans without the need to go to the main Facebook website and you will also get in real time the updated content of the information stream published on your Facebook account, according to the Official Facebook Blog:

Microblogging data from Twitter is a good source of real time news from the web, maybe better than any popular search engine. Considering Twitter as a primary source of information updated in real time from all around the world, Microsoft became interested by Twitter phenomenon, by considering it a priority for consumers needs. As a consequence, developers added a new feature to Bing, the newly launched Microsoft search engine: the integration of real time data from Twitter in Bing search results.
