Microsoft has just launched a new Facebook client for Windows Mobile 6 users. The Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 application allows users to easily update their profiles, connect with their friends directly from a mobile phone or add content to the Facebook information stream, such as videos, pictures or news.
Just launched, the office applications suite OpenOffice.org 3.1 will deliver to the users besides a free alternative to the commercial Microsoft Office package, new features and a better experience and work flow. OpenOffice.org 3.1 comes with many improvements such as anti-aliasing technique of drawing shapes on the screen, a new file locking mechanism, SQL syntax highlighting and more.
A new stable version of VirtualBox (2.2.2) was released for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris and OpenSolaris hosts. Microsoft has announced the plans to release next year Office 2010 (code named Office 14). On Wednesday 04.15.2009, there will be provided for free download a component of the next Office 2010 software, Exchange 2010, as a beta version. In the same time, the new Office 2010 will also be available for testing at the end of 2009 year. Microsoft intends to offer to consumers an ad supported version of Office 2010 for free, while businesses will be charged for a version without ads.
Recently, Mozilla Firefox web browser has been updated from version 3.0.7 to version 3.0.8 in a new development step further to Firefox 3.5 (Firefox 3.1, code named Shiretoko will become Firefox 3.5, because the version 3.1 will be renumbered to 3.5, according to Mozilla official website). Opera Turbo is the latest server-side compression technology which delivers a high browsing speed over Internet connections with a low bandwidth by reducing the network traffic up to 80% during data transfer. Firefox 3.1 Beta 3, released on March 12, 2009, is the final one from 3.1 series. Starting with the Beta 4 release, the 3.1 version will be renumbered to 3.5.
