Microsoft Corporation has just released Microsoft Security Essentials, a new and free anti-malware service which provides real time protection for modern computers equipped with Windows 7 operating system, but in the same time it is compatible with older PCs with a CPU of only 500 MHz running Windows XP SP2. Web browsers will always have security flaws, especially due to the possibility of the remote code execution through JavaScript routines. In case of the recently released Firefox 3.5 browser, the highly critical security flaw was solved in the updated version (Firefox 3.5.1) launched on July 16, 2009 by Mozilla. Alongside the severe security issue reported by Secunia and other similar sites, in this new Firefox release, additional security and stability related problems were also patched.

Even Mozilla has modified the initial date when the first release candidate of Firefox 3.5 will be available for Internet public (now the official release date for Firefox 3.5 RC 1 is June 10th), you can have a preview of what can do the RC version of the browser. According to a recent Lifehacker post, by downloading and installing the latest beta version of Firefox 3.5 (Firefox 3.5 beta 4), you will have the possibility to upgrade the browser to the Preview release, which is not the release candidate, but it includes more refinements than any beta.

Mozilla Labs has started eighteen months ago an experiment called Prism, which allows Internet users to bring any website or web based application directly to the desktop. The web experience will be based on the same features like in case of Internet navigation with web browser, but in absence of it. Now, the developers from Mozilla Labs have released Prism 1.0 Beta, alongside a new website, where users can download Prism as a Firefox extension or as standalone application.
