Microsoft Will Provide A Free Anti-Malware Alternative For Windows Live OneCare In 2009

In response for the need of a free solution for computer protection against malware (viruses, trojans or spyware) Microsoft Corporation announced the release of a new project code named Morro in 2009.

It will replace the Windows Live OneCare protection service and will not contain the security issues existing in the current security suites, like printer sharing or automatic PC tuneup. The subscription service of Windows Live OneCare will be discontinued on June 30, 2009. (more…)
