It could be hard to believe, but after the recent release of Firefox 3.5.1 update, a new security flaw that allows remote code execution through JavaScript code was discovered. A proof of concept for the exploit code was also made public and it works, because Mozilla Firefox browser is still vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. The attacker could generate the buffer overflow by sending long Unicode strings to the document.write method and in this way is possible the remote code execution to compromise an operating system or a DOS (Denial Of Service) attack.

According to Wikipedia, various client applications used with a certain network protocols are defined as user agents. They could be web browsers, email clients, search engine robots, mobile phones and more. The user agent is identified through an unique string sent in the HTTP request to the web server. As a consequence, the user agent string allows the differentiation between robots and real visitors in the traffic statistics using the server log files. On the other hand, the changing of the browser user agent string into one corresponding to a search engine bot could give you unrestricted access to password protected information on forums or blogs, because the spiders are usually allowed to index all website content.
