There are situations when you need to boot multiple operating systems (OS) alongside Windows. Usually, the operation of booting into a different OS than Windows can be performed manually via computer BIOS, by switching the boot sequence corresponding to the device (CD, DVD, USB drive) which contains a preinstalled version of the desired OS. A simpler alternative is provided by, PLoP Boot Manager, a free software that will allow you to bypass the BIOS menu and visually select the desired booting device or hard drive partition. (more…)

Approximately in a week after Windows 7 RTM was released to major OEM (original equipment manufacturers), hackers have found an innovative method to crack and activate pirated copies of the operating system. Based on a Windows 7 Ultimate OEM DVD ISO leaked on a Chinese forum, the hackers have identified the OEM-SLP (System Locked Preinstall) product key and the OEM certificate for Windows 7 RTM Ultimate. The necessary data to permanently activate Windows 7 RTM Ultimate was grabbed via boot.wim file existing on the leaked DVD ISO. (more…)

The 7600 build of the Windows 7 was officially announced as RTM. The leaked Windows 7 Build 6.1.7600.16385.090713-1255 seems to be identical with the final Windows 7 RTM. As you expected, Windows 7 RTM was made available for free download on various websites, before the official announcement made by Microsoft in a press release and on Windows 7 Team Blog. In the same time, Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM was also announced, simultaneously with Windows 7 RTM, on July 22, 2009.

The official dates when you will be able to get Windows 7 RTM were made public on Windows 7 Team Blog by Brandon LeBlanc. The Release to Manufacturing (RTM) for Windows 7 will not be free for beta testers, unless they have a subscription to TechNet. In the same time, the product keys for Windows 7 RTM will be different than the ones released for Windows 7 Beta and the Release Candidate. ISV (Independent software vendor) and IHV (Independent hardware vendor) Partners will be the first who can obtain Windows 7 RTM from Microsoft Connect or MSDN on August 6th. (more…)

In an attempt to improve the interoperability between Windows operating system and Linux open source platform, Microsoft has released under the terms of GPL 2 license, 20000 lines of code corresponding to three Linux device drivers. This is the first time when Microsoft provides codes for device drivers directly to the Linux kernel community for the inclusion in the Linux tree. (more…)

Microsoft has just announced the availability of Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Service Pack 2 (12.2.0), which contains many improvements intended to increase stability, security and performance of all applications existing in the Office suite. In addition, the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Service Pack 2 comes with a new application called Microsoft Document Connection. In addition to the Windows 7 RTM Build 7600, now Microsoft Office Mondo 2010 Beta 1 is available for free download from torrent links. The leaked version of Microsoft Office Mondo 2010 Beta 1 has the Build number 14.0.4302.1000 and can be downloaded in two flavors for 32bit, as well as 64bit platforms (the DVD ISO file size has 1.58 GB). It seems to be a major update, as compared with the latest leaked Office 2010 Technical Preview. Practically, Microsoft Office Mondo 2010 Beta 1 could be the ultimate SKU, according to the following screenshot:

In many news articles related to the official date of Windows 7 RTM availability, there were made a series of speculations regarding the fact that Microsoft will announce the final build of Windows 7 RTM on July 13th, 2009 at the annual Worldwide Partner Conference, which takes place in New Orleans. The rumors are sustained by the leaked version of Windows 7 RTM Build 7600, now available for free download from torrent links or file sharing services, such as RapidShare, MegaUpload and DepositFiles.

In February 2009, the “quick add” feature was introduced into Hotmail service. Now, Microsoft has announced that the quick add pane will provide you the option to integrate into emails content found via Bing Search. With a single mouse click, the user is allowed to insert into the HTML email body movies, images and other types of web based content retrieved by Bing search engine.

On July 06, 2009, Microsoft has made public the existence of a severe security flaw in Internet Explorer, caused by a vulnerability discovered in Microsoft Video ActiveX Control. As a consequence, if any attacker succeeds in exploiting this security leak of Internet Explorer browser, then the user computer could be remotely controlled by the attacker, with the same access rights over the machine resources and data, as the ones corresponding to the owner.
