I occasionally like to download entire webcomics, in case they go offline or I want to read them on something without internet access. However, unless the image names are formatted nicely (which they almost never are), downloading all of the images can be a pain. That's where this script comes in. Designed for use with the excellent DownloadThemAll extension, though it will perform wonderfully without the extension, this script will find the biggest image on any page you visit and add it to a list. Then, when you tell it to, the script will open a new tab containing links, in order, to all of said images.



Use: (I know it looks long. It isn't. Really.)
Navigate to the first page of the webcomic or gallery you wish to download. Right-click on the greasemonkey logo in the status bar or go to Tools-Greasemonkey, select User Script Commands, and click on "Clear URL list". Confirm that you do want to clear the list. Then, reload the page. Read through the webcomic. Optionally, after reading a few, go back to User Script Commands and select "Create links page", just to confirm it's working properly. After you've finished reading the webcomic, select "Create links page" again. Viola. The links shown should link to the largest image on every page you've visited since last clearing the list. At this point, if you have DownloadThemAll installed, use it to save the images, probably with a renaming mask. If you don't, well, the page it generates can be bookmarked or used with some other downloading applications.



Notes:
*If you don't read through the comic or gallery all the way without navigating to other pages, then between each session, disable the script. Remember to re-enable it before continuing to browse.
*Or, instead of disabling, you can just set the script to only run on the comic you're trying to get. Just remember to fix it before getting a new one.
*This script might also save some image-based ads, depending on how they are loaded. I might someday add functionality to block them, but for now, just delete them after they are saved.
*The page of links can be bookmarked or emailed or anything, like any other webpage.
*You can go around with the script disabled, if you like.
*If you also use the Open Selected Links bookmarklet from http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/pagelink..., you can do stuff a lot faster.




Other uses:
For image galleries and the like, set the script to include only the URLs which will contain the images you want.





Deviantart: (This section is only for people who want to download stuff from deviantart.com. If you don't, this is useless.)
Say you want to create a page to all of the deviations you full-view. You must be logged-in and have your settings configured to full-view images by default, unless you want the thumbnails. (Go to settings at http://my.deviantart.com/settings/, click browsing, and change the first option.) Set the script to include only "http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/*". Leave it running as you go around. Then, when you want the links, generate the page and it will include only links to those images. Very easy.
Or, say you want to make a page with the links from DevWatch. Again, be logged in and have it configured to full-view, and have it set to include only the URL given above. You have two ways of doing this. You can either browse to all of the pages individually, or you can select all the links and use the bookmarklet mention in the Notes section.
