The cPanel "Edit File" functionality is useful when working with server-side files, allowing in-browser editing without saving it locally or having to upload it again. However, the built-in editor has several drawbacks, functionally and aesthetically.
cPanel Edit Fixes greatly enhances the editor, giving it a simpler, cleaner interface. The text box is enlarged to fit the entire screen, and the editing and submission controls are moved to a toolbar at the top. File data is submitted in the background, using dialogs to display its progress and without reloading or redirecting the page. The file path can be changed at any time to open another file or save the current one in a new direction (with warnings to prevent accidential overwriting of files). Other features include a shortcut to quickly save the file by pressing Ctrl+Alt+S, and the ability to input the tab character with the tab key like a conventional editor.
